Who are the Scaptanen? That was a long time ago... it must have been somewhere in the 500s, the Scaptanen lived... Just kidding! The Scaptanen, that's our team! The Scapta family. Each one of them has a unique story with hidden (and not so hidden) talents. Wonderful people who share a passion. Our Scapta family is growing! Would you like to get to know them?

How long have you been working for Scapta?

Meanwhile, 3 years! Time flies when you're having fun, they say. Very fitting in my case.

How were your first few days?

To be completely honest? Very awkward! A new job is always exciting, of course, but for me, the job at Scapta was far outside my familiar comfort zone. I come from the finance world. Both my studies, my first job as an auditor, and a second job as a controller were in the same ballpark. I knew that, I was familiar with it.

The job at Scapta was a real career switch for me. However, it was the best decision I ever made. I was no longer happy in finance, and fun is very important in my job!

So the switch was intentional?

It was definitely intentional, but that doesn't make you feel confident. In the beginning, it was mostly experimenting and testing the waters, just like my first day of school, haha!

That must have been exciting! Truly a leap into the unknown.

Happy to say I was really looking forward to this new challenge! But then reality hits, of course. Would I really manage this?

How would you describe your journey? A bumpy ride with ups and downs, or fun?

It turned out to be very good. When you are so lovingly welcomed by your new colleagues, you can ‘The ride’ not really bumpy. Koen immediately took me under his wing and really embraced me. I didn't even have the chance to stumble. That warm Scapta attention immediately put me on the right track.

In the beginning, the scouts were my life vest, they kept me afloat. Meanwhile, I can happily manage on my own without that vest, but the team remains just as close!

Have you always felt that you could fall back on the scaptans?

Absolutely, from day one! It's not always the structure or organization that facilitates this, but very often the colleagues themselves. Great to feel so welcome!

I can relate! What exactly makes Scapta so different from your previous employers? Why should other people choose Scapta?

Hospitality! And for me, that's twofold. On one hand, the team is incredibly close-knit. Everyone has a place and is genuinely appreciated. You're not just a number. Your colleagues, managers, clients... everyone is down-to-earth and very accessible. That's what makes Scapta truly Scapta!

On the other hand, there's also literally a lot of freedom. Freedom to be able to do your own thing and permission to do it. You can really develop yourself. We have great clients with challenging projects. Due to the varied tasks, every day is different and that never gets boring!

Besides being challenging, technical, and varied, my job is also simply social. And with such great colleagues and clients, that's guaranteed to result in fun! Talk about a successful career change...

Looking back at your journey, what are you most proud of? Is there a project or moment that you look back on with fondness?

Trias was very special to me! Trias is a Belgian organization, but active in several countries. We implemented Navision there. Quite challenging when you realize that, for example, people in Sri Lanka and Congo also had to learn to work with it. Employees from all over the world came down to Brussels, where Koen and I had the opportunity to give workshops. English workshops together with a number of translators who simultaneously translated everything into Spanish and French. Super special, that will always stay with me!

I'm not familiar with "scapta." Could you please provide more context or clarify what "scapta" refers to? I'd be happy to try and generate a quote or sentence related to it if I understand it better.

I'm home! I think that says enough.
