How long have you been working for Scapta?
I've practically become furniture... I've been working for Scapta (or IT Solutions back then) since 2008. A real veteran, shall we say!
How did you end up here at a young age?
It all started with a 6-month internship. Those 6 months have now turned into almost 14 years. I never left. After my studies in Applied Computer Science, I just stayed here.
What exactly does your job at Scapta involve?
I am one of our Business Central developers! Customer requests come to me via a business consultant. I then translate them into the world of Business Central. It also happens that I discuss this with customers myself. I then translate business needs into a technically correct solution and I also take care of the implementation. Exciting variety!
Okay, good! So you have quite a bit of customer contact?
That really varies from project to project. For new projects, we often work with a business consultant. For older, known projects or very complex matters, we opt for one-on-one communication. A bit tailored to the client.
Looking back over the years, what do you enjoy most about the job?
I enjoy performing and implementing technical feats. But I'm also deeply fascinated by diving into a problem and investigating it thoroughly. Especially to ultimately solve it, of course!
On the other hand, it's also incredibly fascinating to fully immerse myself in the customer's world. They come to us with various questions, such as: how can our warehouse be better managed, or how can we simplify the production process? It's interesting when you can think about those things! It's precisely that variety that appeals to me enormously. That keeps it engaging!
Are you the real deal when it comes to IT professionals?
It's up to you to judge! I'm undoubtedly called that often, but that's okay!
Did you feel at home here immediately?
Absolutely! Before the acquisition, it might have been a bit more complicated, but since Scapta became Scapta, it truly feels like home!
Have you grown in recent years?
Absolutely! On a technical level and in terms of job content, a lot has changed!
And can our technical IT staff also learn a lot from each other?
That happens! However, we all have over 10 years of experience. So we know the ins and outs by now. But if we run into something, we can definitely rely on each other!
Do you see yourself growing too?
I've grown so much in recent years. Honestly, I'm happy with where I am and what I know for now! Undoubtedly there are still areas for improvement, but the foundation is strong and broad enough to bring client projects to a successful conclusion.
What makes you happy in this job? The atmosphere at Scapta or perhaps your colleagues?
I've become so used to the work that it just feels like second nature. That's a great feeling! Additionally, I'm looking forward to coming into the office 2 to 3 days a week and seeing everyone again.
