Who are the Scaptanen? That was a long time ago... it must have been somewhere in the 500s, the Scaptanen lived... Just kidding! The Scaptanen, that's our team! The Scapta family. Each one of them has a unique story with hidden (and not so hidden) talents. Wonderful people who share a passion. Our Scapta family is growing! Would you like to get to know them?

First and foremost, thank you for being the HR woman behind Scapta! How long have you been doing this?
Initially, I started here as an outsourcing consultant for administrative support. But after 5 months as a consultant, Alex and Peter offered me a permanent position within Scapta. I didn't hesitate for long! My responsibilities have expanded since then, and since August 2019, I have officially been the HR manager of Scaptania.
Nice story, so you got to taste it first! How were your first days? Did you immediately feel that click?
Absolutely! As an outsourcing consultant, I used to visit 3 to 4 clients a week. It was only here that I immediately felt a connection with my colleagues. Alex had just become a dad, and even as an ‘external’ employee, I was invited to the baby shower in the first week. At Scapta, I didn't feel like an outsider, and that's wonderful!
Great to hear! As an HR manager, you naturally have a unique position. People come to you when there are problems. How do you feel about that? And can you also vent your frustrations when needed?
As Chief Happiness Officer, I want people to feel good at Scapta! They need to have someone they can go to if they have something on their mind. Of course, that can be me, but Peter and Alex are also always available! Depending on the topic, colleagues choose the right person themselves. It's great that it's happening so organically and that Alex and Peter are so close to the staff.
Furthermore, I also have a close bond with Peter and Alex, but my colleagues on my island are always there for me too. So I can definitely open up if needed!

Is enough attention being paid to team spirit within Scapta?
We're doing our very best! We consider a warm welcome extremely important here. A new start is always super exciting, but a good beginning is half the battle, right? The whole team is always ready to welcome a starter.
But even afterward, no one is left to their own devices. We are always there for each other, and everyone is happy to lend a hand. In addition, we try to create a homely atmosphere in the office. There is always fresh fruit, fresh soup, granola, ... everything to get you through your workday comfortably! We organize various events where colleagues can share knowledge but also get to know each other in a different way. This creates a relaxed atmosphere, allowing everyone to be themselves in the office.
That's quite something indeed! What makes the job interesting for you?
20 years of HR experience means I'm entrusted with a lot of responsibility. I manage my own workload, make decisions, and set my own priorities. Of course, this is always in consultation with the managing directors. During the weekly HR meetings, we align our objectives. This allows me to start each week with full confidence!
What does a future starship captain look like? What qualities does that person definitely need?
In my opinion, an ideal team captain is enthusiastic and a real team player! You have to roll up your sleeves and take initiative independently!
Last but not least! How would you summarize Scapta?
Alone you go far, but together you go further!
