Intern, you're sometimes called ‘our wonder-teleporter,’ but what exactly is your job?
Telemarketing in all its facets, in particular:
– following up on marketing actions,
– updating and cleaning our CRM,
– investigating customer satisfaction, …
But the biggest challenge and reward is in prospecting, of course. I generate new leads and opportunities every day, follow up on them, qualify them, and finally pass them on to sales. That gives me a thrill every time we succeed together as a team.
How long have you been working at Scapta?
I officially started here in 2016, but Alex, Peter, and I have known each other for ages, really. Or at least, that’s how it feels. I also worked for Helios IT years ago, Alex and Peter's first venture. So now we've been working together for over 20 years… that’s quite a long time.
They are such an incredibly complementary duo, they continue to amaze me. Over the years, I’ve seen how they always give each other the right space. How they have that special synergy. That synergy, that mayonnaise, that melody, they pass it on to the scaptans every day, and that ensures our story is correct. A strong team with a very strong foundation.
In all these years, you've seen Scapta grow up and you've also been on quite a journey yourself. How did you experience that?
When I started, I was indeed young myself. Inexperienced in telesales and new to the sector. During that start-up period, I learned immensely. I had to adapt, every single day. And fortunately, we still do, which keeps it interesting!
I grew up with this company and have found my place in the meantime. Part of the furniture, but certainly not rusty. Haha! I am especially enormously grateful for this wonderful journey.
What a story! After all these years, what do you still enjoy most about your job?
The work-life balance and my colleagues! I love structure, independence, and peace, and that's exactly what this job offers me. I can enjoy my cup of coffee in the morning, sit down at my desk, and start working independently. I'm given full trust, and that's such a great feeling. This way, I can perfectly combine my job with my private life!
What don't you like then?
I just said it, I have the best colleagues! The sales team, marketing team, and I are like two peas in a pod. Although I don't see them enough sometimes. The distance to the office is quite large for me and I'm on the phone all day sometimes. Then I prefer to be alone and work better from home. We talk a lot, but I still miss them sometimes!
14 years ago you chose Scapta. Why exactly?
I already knew Alex. He asked me to make the move, and I went for it. That human connection made the difference for me. And it's also that connection that kept me deciding to follow Alex and Peter again and again. Mutual trust and appreciation form a rock-solid foundation.
That's great! Why should other employees choose Scapta too?
That answer is twofold for me:
Scapta as a company is dynamic, innovative, and customer-oriented; you won't find that drive everywhere.
2. Scapta stands for a pleasant atmosphere, good work-life balance, independent work, trust, and appreciation as an employer. Scaptanen enjoy themselves together both during and after work hours. A great workplace where you can be yourself, that's how I feel about it!
How do you perceive the work-life balance at Scapta?
We can work from home, but you already knew that by now. That is very pleasant if you want to combine your job with a family. But that's not all. They listen. Truly listen. They take your personal situation into account, which has been enormously important to me. Personally, I've had a few tough years. However, I always received breathing room and flexibility, and that is truly WORTH GOLD! Feeling understood and given space. A burden lifted from your shoulders. You can truly find that at scapta.
