Today, we're spotlighting Jessica: technical consultant, boundary pusher, and not shy about a Christmas carol. 🎄
Tech consultant by day 🎤 Choir singer by night (Amicula, Pelt) Rocket captain since 2022 Happy 28th birthday
We'll start with the easiest: how did you end up with us?
“I discovered Scapta about 4 years ago through the Corda Campus, where I regularly attended classes during my final year of studies. That location immediately appealed to me. I started scouting via the Corda website and that's how I got in touch with you.”
How do you explain your job to someone who knows nothing about it?
“Actually, I'm bragging a little about that and saying: ‘I work for Microsoft. That sounds the most impressive. I do custom work for Microsoft products, and then I let people believe it for a while.”
Did you feel a warm welcome right away?
“Yes, I immediately felt like I was part of a group. I was welcomed with open arms, not only by my team with technical profiles, but by the entire company and management.”

Was the foundation of trust quickly needed for your first project?
The first adjustment I had to make was building APIs, connecting systems with Business Central. The first project was a tough one right off the bat, but I learned a lot from it.”
Was it a leap of faith?
“A little on both sides. The technical colleagues certainly supported me where needed. But for them, there was also a lot that was new, because we were just connecting with a platform that wasn't very familiar to them. So it involved a lot of figuring things out and communicating with third parties.”
Have you had to push those boundaries before?
“Wow, I learned everything about Business Central and the programming within it at Scapta. I was given every opportunity, both on a functional and technical level. So the tools are definitely there.”
What makes a good technical consultant?
“Listen especially well. Translate customer needs and desires into technical terms: How can we best accommodate this? And if something isn't possible, how can we achieve it in a different way that maximally meets what the customer needs.”
What do you do it for?
“Helping people and making their lives easier. Currently, we're developing a transportation system so customers know which goods are where and when. An impact you can see and feel, and that's motivating.”
Is the fun factor a given with Sapta?
“I've already talked about pushing boundaries, both in my work and in my personal life. On the incentive trip, we went rafting. I never thought I'd do that. It was great to try new things there too.”
If Skapta were a person…
“Someone who wants to be involved, wants to brainstorm, wants to help others, and brings in a lot of knowledge to support colleagues.” In short: a thoughtful and people-oriented person.
