Today, Belgian company Scapta announces that it is selling its Shopify connector app, Scaptify, to Microsoft. The app is now available within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. This will allow customers to avoid manual processes and focus more on customer experiences.
More than 2 million businesses worldwide today use Shopify to allow consumers to shop in their webshop. Additionally, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers a comprehensive business management solution to record all logistical and financial administration of orders. The Belgian IT company scapta developed an app that allows Shopify and Business Central to communicate easily. Under the name Scaptify, the app became particularly popular. Around 300 webshops worldwide are already using the Belgian app today. Microsoft now offers the Shopify connector at no extra cost, embedded in Business Central. The Shopify connector within Business Central is automatically installed in new environments and can be downloaded by current customers via Microsoft AppSource.
“Microsoft has acquired scapta's market-tested, feature-rich Shopify connector, and we are now embedding it directly into Dynamics 365 Business Central. In this way, we are helping our customers run their businesses as efficiently as possible. Microsoft remains a supporter of scapta, and the scapta team remains highly committed to serving our joint customers and resellers.”
Mike Morton, General Manager, SMB Business Applications, Microsoft.
International recognition of IT expertise
The IT company Scapta started in 2015 at the Corda Campus in Hasselt with the goal of simplifying business management for SMEs based on software applications. To achieve this, they use the various applications that Microsoft offers. Scaptify was the first – but certainly not the last – app that Scapta wants to develop itself and launch internationally.
“The acquisition of Scaptify is a great recognition for the entire team that made this possible. It encourages us to continue developing new solutions and strengthens our potential as a company. The acquisition puts the app on the radar of even more companies using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Shopify. Naturally, we will continue to serve Microsoft, its partners, and these companies by working with them on specific solutions when they implement the app.”
Alex Vandereycken, co-owner and founder of scapta
