Joe Biden has called on technology companies and financial institutions to invest more in cybersecurity. Biden recently spoke with the top managers of Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, and Microsoft, among others, stating in his opening remarks: “I have invited you all here today because I believe you have the power, the capacity, and the responsibility to raise the bar on cybersecurity.”
Microsoft recently announced that it would significantly increase its investments in cybersecurity by as much as $20 billion (approximately €17 billion) over the next five years. That is four times the amount the company had previously planned to invest. Cybersecurity is a rapidly growing business for Microsoft, currently generating more than $10 billion in annual revenue. This enables the company to continue developing and innovating in the market.
