Microsoft New Commerce Experience (NCE)

Starting March 2022, Microsoft will implement some changes to the licensing strategy of the Cloud Solution Provider program (CSP). The adjustments apply to Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Windows 365 subscriptions.

What will change?

Instead of the current monthly subscriptions, you have the choice to take out monthly, annual, or 3-year subscriptions.

Starting June 1, 2022, you will only be able to purchase new subscriptions through the New Commerce Experience.

If you cancel a subscription within 72 hours, you will receive a pro-rata refund. After 72 hours, you agree to commit to the subscription for the full term.

Monthly and annual subscriptions can be combined.

What are the possibilities?

Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • Subscription per month:
You have the option to activate or deactivate your licenses on a monthly basis; the license fee will be reviewed monthly. This subscription will cost 20% more than the current license fee.
  • Annual subscription:
You can activate licenses whenever you wish, but deactivation can only occur on your subscription's expiration date. Billing is monthly and without price increases.
  • 3-Year Subscription
Similar to the annual subscription, the license prices are fixed for 3 years.

Microsoft 365

As of March 1, 2022, the price of several basic subscriptions will increase, such as Microsoft 365 Business Basic & Premium; Office 365 E1, E3 & E5 and Microsoft 365 E3.

If you subscribe to an annual subscription before March 1, 2022, you can defer price increases for 1 year, as the price of an annual subscription is fixed for the subscription period.

For whom?

The new options apply to new subscriptions and to existing customers on their renewal date.

NCE does not apply to non-profit/educational customers, so it is only for commercial customers.
