‘Ain't no mountain high enough’ is the motto in today's business world. The power of the internet and e-commerce enables companies, large and small, to grow both nationally and internationally. With the pressure to continue complying with local laws and regulations, many companies need a unified solution for all organizational units. This way, they can avoid information silos, multiple versions of the truth, and confused employees. Tech giant Microsoft is therefore determined to fulfill this wish by making Dynamics 365 Business Central globally available.
It happens regularly. A local supplier is chosen to implement an ERP solution, but the first problems quickly arise when the organization wants to conduct its business internationally. For that main reason, Microsoft decided to greatly simplify the process for its customers and partners.
Microsoft announced at the Directions EMEA event in Milan a strong increase from 49 to as many as 69 localized versions for Business Central. That is a 40 percent growth compared to last year and 50 percent more than the current number of localized versions of Dynamics NAV.
What exactly is a localized or country-specific version?
- Making and keeping Business Central available in the local language, local currency, and local laws and regulations, and implementing this on a permanent basis.
- The availability of local implementation partners in all countries who are intimately familiar with the localized version, speak the local language, and moreover understand the local culture
- Provide customers with access to a local help desk that offers support in the local language and local time zone.
With these proposals, Microsoft aims to improve the quality of users’ implementation and international rollout.
Microsoft's ambition? “Make Business Central available worldwide,” says Mike Morten, general manager for Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Not a Microsoft Dynamics user yet? Then ask yourself how many country-specific versions your current ERP provider supports. Does it facilitate the growth you envision?
Looking for a new ERP/CRM solution? Then it's always wise to check if your potential supplier has an international offering. And in how many different countries this solution is actively supported.
