We are taking this opportunity to refresh the essential steps that need to be taken to successfully navigate this process. It is important to realize that no further bookings will be possible for the relevant financial year after the completion of this closing process. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to prepare a trial and balance sheet prior to this phase and to carefully check the results. The closing process consists of 3 steps:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1: Closing the accounting periods<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To begin, we're looking for the page related to the booking periods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"756\" height=\"94\" src=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture1-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7889\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture1-1.png 756w, https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture1-1-300x37.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 756px) 100vw, 756px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this page, you will find the \u201cclose year\u201d function:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"756\" height=\"152\" src=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture2-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7891\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture2-1.png 756w, https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture2-1-300x60.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 756px) 100vw, 756px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This function fully closes the desired period. You will not be able to open it again afterward, nor can you remove the checkmark for \u201cclosed\u201d or \u201cblocked.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Please note:<\/u><\/strong> A fiscal year cannot be closed until a new fiscal year has been created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the accounting periods have been closed, the result of the fiscal year can be processed. For this, search for the \u201cClose P&amp;L Account\u201d tool in Business Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this task, the profit or loss for the year is transferred to a balance sheet account, and the items on the income statements are closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"756\" height=\"96\" src=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture3-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7893\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture3-1.png 756w, https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture3-1-300x38.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 756px) 100vw, 756px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the action menu of this task, you will complete and run the parameters:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"749\" height=\"294\" src=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture4-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7895\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture4-1.png 749w, https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture4-1-300x118.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 3: Book the year-end adjustment entry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the task is performed and the selected journal is opened, you will see suggested entries. Here you can complete the booking of year-end transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"752\" height=\"272\" src=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7897\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture5.png 752w, https:\/\/scapta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Picture5-300x109.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 752px) 100vw, 752px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the booking is successful, the booked items are removed from the journal.
