Microsoft is doubling the Dataverse database capacity!

Microsoft is giving out Christmas presents early this year: It's doubling Dataverse capacity for all tenants! No more 10 GB, but suddenly 20 GB of database capacity. A silent upgrade, but a very nice one 🎁.

For every Microsoft customer who has purchased licenses for Power Platform or Dynamics 365 products, the tenant is given so-called Dataverse standard capacity. This is a one-time allocation of storage capacity for database, file, and log storage in Dataverse. Customers who only use Microsoft 365 or Office 365 licenses with their included Power Apps or Power Automate functionality will not receive this capacity.

“Starting December 1, 2025, we are increasing the standard storage for Dataverse (per tenant entitlements) for all Dynamics 365 apps (with the exception of Business Central) and Power Platform. Dataverse and storage for Dynamics 365 ERP applications (Finance, Supply Chain, Commerce, Project Operations, Human Resources) will now be merged into one shared pool per tenant.”

Starting December 1st, the new capacity will be rolled out. This will allow existing customers with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, or Copilot Studio licenses to receive 10 GB extra Dataverse database capacity, making the new standard capacity for most customers at 20 GB comes out. If the only premium license is Power Apps per app, the default 15 GB become.

A good step forward, if you ask us!
